As the noise of the holiday season dies down and we settle into a new year, we like to reflect on some of the magic of the Christmas season. The holidays are a busy time for us here at OSBA, and this year we successfully put on three great shows.
To kick it off, Ballet West presented the beloved Nutcracker ballet. Something about listening to the Overture of Tchaikovsky’s most famous work rings Christmas to my ears. The 2015 Nutcracker set a record in our box office as many families attended to renew a favorite holiday tradition or start a new one. Needless to say, the dancers and musicians left us all with visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads.
December twelfth we welcomed the jolly old elf himself in the lobby of the Browning Center. Young and old had the opportunity to whisper in his ear their Christmas wishes and also make adorable tree ornaments made from muffin papers. The Utah Symphony then treated us to a score of our favorite holiday carols, making for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon making our days merry and bright.
To close our holiday season, we were thrilled to have Five Carols for Christmas and JingleJacks give us stitches in our sides and leave us rolling on the floor after their hysterical performances.
All in all, we had a fabulous holiday. We hope that you, and all our patrons, had the same and we can’t wait to see you at our upcoming performances!
