Community Impact

Something to Offer

Ogden is rich in history and culture. From the early days of the railroad to the incredible views atop Mount Ogden peak, the Ogden Symphony Ballet Association is very happy to be a part of Ogden’s cultural fabric. The Ogden Symphony Ballet Association has given northern Utah residents their ticket to the arts for over 50 years, and expects to do so for many more.

Community Outreach

The Ogden Symphony Ballet Association provides tickets to local community programs and non-profit organizations, thus bringing opportunities to local residents who couldn’t otherwise enjoy the performances.

Educational Outreach

Many junior high and senior high school students have never experienced a live symphony or ballet. In cooperation with four school districts in our area, we provide free tickets to nearly 300 students for each concert. Foundations, businesses and individuals underwrite the price of the tickets. An educational symposium, featuring a member of the orchestra or artist staff, is held prior to many of the concerts where students can learn more about the composers and the evening’s program.

The Ride

The Ogden Symphony Ballet Association contracts with “The Ride” (a Weber County Human Services program) to provide transportation to citizens of Weber County who are unable to drive. A van picks up the patrons at their homes and returns them there following the concert. The Association pays entirely for “The Ride”.

Youth Guild for the Performing Arts

The Youth Guild is an educational program sponsored by the Ogden Symphony Ballet Association which allows local youth to participate with the Utah Symphony and Ballet West members. The Youth Guild has a membership of over 150 local high school students, male and female, who usher at concerts, run the concessions stand and coat-check, assist in events of the Association, and receive valuable opportunities to see and hear experts in the fields of music and dance. While providing an invaluable service at our performances, youth guild members have the opportunity to attend all of the concerts, perform as pre-concert entertainment, receive discounted tickets for members of their immediate family, and meet and work with students from other school districts.
