How To Help

EVERY DONATION COUNTS. ANY AMOUNT HELPS.

Only a fraction of our program and operating costs are recovered through ticket sales. Your generous donation helps support OSBA's annual season, including eleven Utah Symphony Concerts, four Dance Series performances, and four Ballet West performances. It also helps support our outreach programs, including our Youth Benefit Concert, the Jean Pell Music Scholarship, Masterworks Music Detectives, Music Explorers and so much more.

Thank you in advance for your generous support that allows us to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people and their families each year. Our work in the community would not be possible without you!

Ways to Give

CASH

Cash, checks, and credit cards are a simple and great way to make a contribution to OSBA! Your contribution through this method may be 100% deductible with the IRS. OSBA wants to make your experience easy! Which is why you are also welcome to pledge your annual support and fulfill your pledge in installments over the course of a year. Please contact Taylor Knuth, OSBA’s Development Director, to arrange your gift through installments.

SECURITIES

OSBA also graciously accepts stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and other securities. This method may provide you with a considerable savings in capital-gains taxes. Please contact your financial advisor concerning capital-gains taxes.

GIFTS-IN-KIND

Year-round, OSBA accepts tangible gifts or services, which may be donated for the purposes of offsetting budgeted items, items to be auctioned or raffled, and assets to be sold.

MATCHING GIFTS

Many corporations now offer employee match contribution programs; which match fully or partially your contribution to any registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization! Contact your employer to find out if they offer this benefit and how to obtain a matching-gift form to include with your donation to OSBA.

PLANNED GIFTS

Beyond naming OSBA as a primary or secondary beneficiary of an insurance policy, IRA account, or retirement plan, a planned gift could also include a bequest in your will, or creating a life-income gift. Please contact your financial advisor concerning end-of-life charitable contributions.

PRIVATE FAMILY FOUNDATION

For a tax-exempt opportunity to provide an established legacy for your contribution, many donors establish a Private Family Foundation. These Private Family Foundations are critical in the long-term financial stability of OSBA and affirm your continued dedication to our organization for generations to come. Please contact your tax or legal advisor concerning the establishment of a Private Family Foundation.

TAX DEDUCTIBILITY

Federal law requires that only a portion of a gift in excess of the fair-market value of goods and services received may be deducted as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes, subject to other provisions of the law. Please contact your tax advisor for any questions or concerns in regards to tax deductibility.
