Marketing and Box Office Manager

Position:            Marketing and Box Office Manager, Full Time, Non-Exempt
Salary:                DOE

The Marketing and Box Office Manager is the primary point of contact for customers and therefore plays a key role in expanding our audience by creating extraordinary customer experiences. Further, the Marketing and Box Office Manager develops and distributes messaging that communicates our mission and creates excitement and interest in our organization. Additionally, this position will lead ticket sale operations including day to day Box Office duties and also directs off-site ticket sales. Other primary duties include managing our patron database and overseeing all sales functions within our ticketing software.

Marketing Duties

  • Plan, strategize and implement all marketing activities for OSBA
  • Work closely with staff to create marketing initiatives to emphasize and promote our programming, outreach and development
  • Plan and develop impactful and well-designed email marketing, including patron communications, ticketing campaigns, and assisting with development emails as needed
  • Assist in updating and contributing to our website and social media accounts
  • Create ad copy and edit photos/video for print and online channels
  • Write and distribute press releases
  • Distribute information regarding our organization by regularly engaging in community public relations
  • Establish, direct, and edit all graphic design elements used across our materials
  • Commit to growing our brand and creating awareness and visibility in the community

Box Office Duties

  • Design and implement ticket selling processes
  • Manage ticketing software
  • Work with Executive Director to establish pricing and promotional policies
  • Lead audience development initiatives by engaging volunteers, board members, and staff
  • Report ticket related financials by accurately accounting all daily receipts, daily deposits and all cash transactions for the Box Office
  • Communicate cordially, calmly, and effectively with customers in person, over the phone, and by email 

Requirements

  • Passion for the arts and an ability to communicate the significance of our mission to a variety of audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, arts, or related subject
  • 3-5 years’ experience in non-profit administration, marketing, or equivalent
  • Ability to independently prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with ticketing software and/or databases
  • Understanding of the importance of our interactions with the public; motivation to perform all duties with a pleasant, professional customer-focused demeanor
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, small-team environment
  • Available to work nights and weekends as needed to staff Box Office
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on other tasks as assigned
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong computer skills, including the ability to quickly learn new software and applications
